HALAL & Co Inc. is a Malaysian homegrown team committed to sourcing and providing a platform where you can find complete line of halal cosmetics and health supplements targeted not only to Muslims, but also to anyone who desires to use products that are all natural. No Animal or Alcohol substances are used — our range of merchant offerings are made of natural ingredients that are extracted from plants, not animals.
It wasn’t simple to curate such an offering. “Everyone knows about Halal Food, but for Halal Cosmetics and Health supplements, we had to do a lot of investigation.” Halal means permissible according to Islamic Laws, in contrast to “Haram”, which means “illegal”. Today’s consumers are more and more conscious of ingredients and production methods.
We at Halal & Co are committed to offering the finest quality beauty and health products, and each of our merchants under the HALAL category is certified by JAKIM Malaysia Halal Certification as well as the Ministry of Health, Malaysia (KKM).
We will set out to ensure that each of our merchants’ product offerings have been reviewed, verified by these bodies as consumables that is pure and clean. The JAKIM Halal certification services are reliable and recognized both nationally and internationally.
When we set out to curate our line of beauty and personal care, the products had to be the best of the best. We ensure that the ingredients are right for the purpose of the products. The texture, smell and packaging are taken into serious consideration, and we make sure they are appealing to all consumers, from Muslim women to non-Muslims looking for all natural cosmetics. We use our products every day, and would not put anything in our collection that we do not absolutely love.
“Halal”—which means “permissible”—is one of the tenets of morality in Islam, and refers to anything that is lawful in Islamic law.
There has been a common misconception up until now about what constitutes Halal, with many people assuming that it relates purely to food. Others who have had a better understanding of the rulings have simply been unaware that some cosmetics contain ingredients that they should avoid. Islam prohibits the consumption of pork, alcohol, and blood. Products that contain one or more of these ingredients are considered to be “haram” or forbidden.
Halal skincare and cosmetics range are produced without any pork, dog, or alcohol ingredients. Halal also stresses the significance of a holistic lifestyle, so the concept of what constitutes a product as “halal” or “haram” goes beyond the ingredients used and includes the packaging, manufacturing, as well as the distribution methods. Other requirements suggest that halal beauty products must be handled with clean utensils and must be produced with materials that are not harmful to humans. As a Malaysian-based company, we adhered to curating products that have passed the JAKIM certification process as well as those with the Ministry of Health codes for organic foods and supplements.
